DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital's Maternal Health Program Honored

Jun 23, 2021

COMMERCE TWP. — DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital has received the Gold level designation from the Michigan Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health (MI AIM).

The hospital was recognized by the organization for improved care processes and patient outcomes. This was achieved through the implementation of protocols, advanced equipment, staff education and staff drills aimed at reducing hypertension during pregnancy and obstetric bleeding through.

“The award demonstrates our commitment to improve the quality of care for moms and reduce maternal health issues. This recognition is a tribute to the Harris Birthing Center team members for their devotion to patient safety,” said David McEwen, CEO of DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital.

“Our collaboration with MI AIM to put protocols in place and provide consistent training helps us maintain our high level of care for the patients we serve. I could not be more proud of the HVSH team for their work to receive this designation” said Administrative Director Rebecca Webb.

MI AIM strives to decrease maternal mortality and morbidity in Michigan. MI AIM works with birthing hospitals to implement safety bundles to combat the leading causes of preventable maternal mortality.
