The Day of Surgery
- You may shower and brush your teeth. Do not use deodorant, perfume, cologne, after shave, creams or lotions the day of surgery. These items hold bacteria and increase the risk of infection.
- It is important to bring some type of Photo ID (driver’s license, state ID or passport) and your insurance card, or appropriate information for billing.
- Do not wear makeup or mascara.
- Please take any medication your nurse has instructed you to take with a very small sip of water.
- Please remove all jewelry and body piercing prior to your arrival to the center. This includes wedding rings.
- If you wear glasses, bring a case which will prevent damage; if you wear contact lenses, bring a contact lense case.
- Wear clothing that is loose and comfortable, and appropriate for your surgery type.
- Do not bring anything valuable to the center except yourself and your family!
- Ladies do not bring your purse and men do not bring your wallet!
- If you have Advance Directives, Power of Attorney or Guardianship papers, please bring them with you.
- If you are bringing a child in for a procedure, please bring one of their favorite stuffed animals or blankets, as well as guardianship papers or birth certificates for the child.
